The environment that a child grows up in can influence the person that they become. In our Certificate III in Early Childhood Education, we aim to teach our students the necessary skills needed to provide a nurturing and safe environment for children. This course will prepare you with the essential knowledge needed to ensure the health and safety of children, develop cultural competence, create and strengthen positive relationships with children, as well as being able to foster the holistic development and wellbeing of a child in early childhood.

WAIFS has also partnered with childcare centres in and around Perth to ensure that throughout our students study, they are able to put theory to practice by being immersed in a real life working environment.

This qualification can be useful to you if you have substantial experience in a range of settings and are seeking to further develop your skills across a range of business functions. It is also suitable if you have little or no vocational experience, but have a good grounding in business skills and knowledge that you’d like to further develop to assist your educational or career aspirations.

This qualification will suit you if you are, or wish to become a qualified educator in children’s services – responsible for planning, implementing and managing programs in accordance with licensing, accreditation and duty of care requirements. At this level, qualified educators have responsibility for the supervision of other staff members and volunteers. In most states it is the highest qualification required for director or service manager level in children’s service center-based care.

Our Diploma of Community Services is perfect for those who have a passion for working with a community and helping disadvantaged individuals. This course provides you with the knowledge to be able to successfully develop and implement service programs, work in a multicultural environment and promote diversity, as well as facilitate workplace support processes. Throughout your study, you will be exposed to the different sectors available, helping to assist and guide you when it comes to choosing which type you would like to enter and work for in the future.

On completion of this course you will be able to assess the needs of a community and use strategies to find resources to best help communities to become dependent on themselves, as well as being knowledgeable when it comes to legal and ethical compliance.

Studying our Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management, will help build upon your already acquired knowledge from previous studies and or work experience, and prepare you to be able to manage a range of different facilities. It will also upgrade your leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and capacity to manage a team or work environment. Useful and relevant units studied in this course include how to develop, implement and review quality framework, contribute to an organisation’s development, and how to manage innovation and continuous improvement.

This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centered support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centered support.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development. Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas. They also initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation. Typically, they would have full responsibility and accountability for the personal output and work of others.

This qualification may apply to leaders and managers in an organisation where learning is used to build organisational capability. The job roles that relate to this qualification may also include RTO Manager and RTO Director.

This course has three streams: the general stream, restaurant management stream, and franchise stream.

It covers the construction of dentures, bridges, crowns and other dental appliances and the repair and modification of these appliances. Depending on particular state/territory legislation and regulations, the qualification may need to be combined with specified periods of clinical practice before you could work as a Dental Technician.

If you are enrolling into our Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management, it is expected that you will already have a sound understanding of the hospitality industry from completing our Diploma of Hospitality Management or from obtaining other equivalent qualifications. This course is all about refining your previously acquired knowledge and strengthening those skills you may find to be underdeveloped. What is special about our Advanced Diploma is that it will go in to depth about relevant topics such as to managing finances and physical assets, developing effective marketing strategies, and the process involved in recruiting, selecting and inducting staff. At the end of this course you should possess a strong set of employability skills that will make it hard for employers to overlook you.

This course is appropriate for you if want to provide an advanced level of assistance to dental practitioners and other dental professionals. The course will advance the level of your knowledge and skills needed in assisting dentists, dental hygienists or dental therapists during all health care procedures, maintaining high standards of infection control and assisting with practice administration. As a student in this course, you will undertake a minimum of 250 hours of clinical placement, linked with a number of units of competency in the Certificate IV program. You would undertake the practical components of the course by working alongside qualified professionals, fully supervised by WAIFS trainers and designated supervisors at the host employer.

This qualification provides the knowledge and skills needed to assist a dentist, dental hygienist or dental therapist during all health care procedures, to help maintain high standards of infection control and to assist with practice administration. Successful completion of this certificate qualifies you for employment as a Dental Assistant.

As part of your Certificate III in Dental Assisting course, you would undertake 250 hours of clinical placement, linked with a number of units of competency in the certificate program. The training will take place in a dental setting, working alongside qualified professionals and being supervised by WAIFS trainers and designated supervisors at the host employer.

This qualification has been designed for anyone looking to be a chef, cook or even start their own hospitality small business.

You will be taught how to prepare dishes using basic methods of cookery, adhere to hygienic standards required in any hospitality environment, and how to develop a food safety program.

This qualification will help you to develop effective customer service skills and confidence in a wide range of hospitality roles. You will learn to identify and address conflicts, provide on-the-job coaching to colleagues and participate in safe work practices.
