A Financial Counsellor provides advice to people experiencing financial problems. You might work for a not-for-profit organisation, a government agency or a private financial firm. Financial Counsellors provide a range of services to help clients move into a stable financial position. You might help them work out a plan to clear their debts or create a savings plan.

To be a Financial Counsellor you’ll need to be able to work well with people from a range of backgrounds. You’ll need to be understanding and have strong personal skills. Financial Counsellors should be able to communicate well and have a strong understanding of financial systems and services.
