To stay in front of competitors and the minds of customers, they rely heavily on data-driven, strategic marketing initiatives.
In this course, you will learn how to create successful traditional and digital marketing campaigns to drive engagement, build brand recognition and achieve your marketing goals. From old-school channels like newspapers, radio, and television to newer channels like podcasting, social media, and blogs, QUT's marketing major will show you how to navigate the traditional landscape and optimise the digital environment. You’ll also learn the latest marketing tools, strategies, and technologies. These include search engine optimisation (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), customer relationship management (CRM), brand storytelling, social media marketing, consumer behaviour, and integrated communications.
Throughout this course, you'll have the opportunity to engage with leading industry professionals inside and outside the classroom. Real-world learning is embedded in this course, and from your very first semester, you will meet and be taught by award-winning academics working in industry and prominent marketing professionals who guest lecture often in our units.
As part of our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program, you'll also have the opportunity to complete professional work placements in consultancies, corporate settings, government, and community groups. This will allow you to build on what you've studied in class while also helping you develop the transferable skills and essential work experience, you’ll need to enter the workforce confidently.

The course will provide you with advanced and specialised discipline knowledge and skills to apply appropriate solutions to project management problems. You will learn how to communicate effectively within various social, cultural and professional contexts across and within stakeholder and discipline groups.
The course structure consists of 48 credit points (4 units) of core units that can be completed in one semester of study.

Our Accounting major, together with specified core units, will allow you to pursue qualification as a professional accountant (such as a Chartered Accountant or CPA). Your studies will be rounded by the choice of either a second major, which is a sequence of eight units from another study area, or minors and electives such as work integrated learning, internships or international study tours that allow you to graduate work ready through engagement with the industry.
