Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

A Chief Financial Officer (CFO) manages a company’s overall financial position. You’ll be responsible for all financial activities, from budgets and forecasts to the daily running of the finance department. Chief Financial Officers review the company’s financial data and make key decisions based on that information. You might make financial recommendations to other managers or develop an overall financial strategy for the organisation.

A Chief Financial Officer needs to have strong leadership skills and should be a good problem solver. You’ll need to be organised and be able to make sound judgements that may affect a large number of people. Chief Financial Officers have a demanding role and you’ll need to be able to handle several tasks at once. You should be able to think strategically and be able to communicate with people in your organisation.
