Bachelor of Social Work (Honours)
Nationally Recognised Higher EducationSW05 Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) has a shared Year 1 and Year 2 with SW04 Bachelor of Social Work. After completing two years in the Bachelor of Social Work course, students with a GPA of 5 or over have the option to apply for a place in the Honours program. On entry to SW05, students retain all credit for units successfully completed in SW04 and will complete a further two years of full-time study which will include an honours research project, 1 Social Work elective and 1 research elective. Research topics and elective choices are selected in consultation with a member of academic staff who agrees to supervise the research. Students complete a significant research project during their final year of study. Grades in SWH coded units are used to calculate the level of honours. Students who achieve a first, or second-class level A honours are eligible to apply for entry to the PhD program.

As a graduate you will have acquired the advanced knowledge and expertise to become work ready researchers, advocates and activist leaders in real-world initiatives and work in partnership with individuals, communities and other professionals, whilst employing culturally safe practices for socially just society.
