A Director of Nursing oversees nursing duties in a hospital or other healthcare facility. You’ll manage nursing staff and coordinate nursing programs. Directors of Nursing make sure patient care and compliance standards are being adhered to and deal with any problems that arise. You may also prepare reports and budgets for nursing departments.

Directors of Nursing should have strong leadership skills and excellent problem solving abilities. You’ll need to be a good communicator and be able to deal with nursing staff, patients and other health care professionals.
