Master of Nurse Practitioner
Nationally Recognised Higher EducationIf you’re ready to provide advanced care in a specialised field this course will prepare you with leadership and communication skills, and deep clinical knowledge. The course comprises eight units which focus on primary health care, Indigenous health, leadership skills, health assessment, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology and translational research.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Prior study entry requirement
You must have a completed postgraduate qualification from a recognised higher education institution in a relevant clinical field.
Hospital and professional training, certificates, etc are not acceptable in lieu of a higher education postgraduate qualification. Incomplete postgraduate studies are also not acceptable.
Professional registration entry requirement
You must have current registration as a nurse (Division 1) without conditions with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Clinical practice entry requirements
You must:
- be currently working in an advanced nursing practice role
- have a minimum of four years full-time (or equivalent) clinical practice experience as a registered nurse in the nominated speciality
- have a minimum of two years full-time (or equivalent) experience (within the last six years) in an advanced nursing practice role in the nominated speciality
- have the support of your Executive Director of Nursing (or equivalent).
Additional entry requirements
You must provide with your online application:
- a statement of service on an official letterhead confirming your clinical practice experience as a registered nurse in the nominated speciality
