In this course, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the key principles and practices of managing people and organisations. To do this, you will explore topics such as organisational behaviour, team building, managing diversity, organisational structure, and human resource management. Throughout your study of human resource management you will be equipped with technology augmented knowledge and learning. You will develop critical thinking skills and technical capabilities for delivering organisational performance through people in the real world.
Real-world learning is embedded in this course. Right from the start of your very first semester, you will have the opportunity to learn from real-world academics who are actively engaged in the industry and prominent human resource management professionals who frequently deliver guest lectures in our classes. As part of our Work Integrated Learning program, you'll also have the opportunity to complete professional work placements in consultancies, corporate settings, government, and community groups. This will allow you to build on what you've studied in class while also helping you develop the transferable skills and essential work experience, you’ll need to enter the workforce confidently.

Before you start this course, we assume you have sound knowledge of the subject/s listed below. If you don't have the subject knowledge, you can still apply for the course but we strongly encourage you to undertake bridging studies to gain the knowledge:
- English, or Literature, or English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 & 4, C)

If you're a current Queensland Year 12 student, you may be eligible to receive an offer for this course on the last day of Queensland Year 12, before receiving your ATAR or selection rank.
