Council Member

A Council Member is elected to represent an electorate in a local government authority. You’ll assist with government decision making and address concerns or issues facing the people in your area. Council Members attend community meetings and represent their council at important events or functions.

Council Members should have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with people from a range of backgrounds. It’s important that you are community-minded and are passionate about the area you live in. Council Members should be organised and able to deal with multiple issues at one time. FAQs
