This program trains participants to respond to emergencies in remote settings. The curriculum includes standards for urban and extended patient care situations and is designed specifically to provide you with the tools to make critical first aid and evacuation decisions in remote locations. 80% of training time will be spent completing practical skills, interactive case studies and scenarios designed to challenge your decision-making abilities.

Wilderness First Aid Course’ is delivered over 3 days of face to face practical training and scenarios after completing pre- course underpinning knowledge Multiple Choices Questions . It focuses not only on the skills and knowledge required to provide the best care to a patient whilst waiting for an extended period of time for help to arrive, but also the skills and knowledge required to co-ordinate an appropriate response including communications to emergency services and evacuation considerations.

It applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. Successful attainment of this course will result in the issue of a Statement of Attainment for the HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support.

This nationally accredited course teaches you the first aid skills and knowledge to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. The unit applies to childcare workers, educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

?This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The target group will be people requiring training to safely work on construction sites.

Also, this unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

This course provides nationally recognised training for workers, or nominated workplace first aiders, from any industry sector and addresses the provision of care to adults and/or children in the workplace who are diagnosed as being at risk of anaphylaxis or displaying signs/symptoms of anaphylaxis.

Successful attainment of the two units within the course, as listed below, will result in the issue of a Statement of Attainment for the 22578VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis.

This nationally recognised training provides accredited training for workers or nominated workplace first aiders from any industry sector and addresses the outcomes required to recognise and respond to situations that require application of basic oxygen therapy and/or oxygen resuscitation as appropriate until the arrival of medical assistance.

The unit excludes the use of bag-valve-mask, manually triggered resuscitators and closed-circuit oxygen units.

Successful attainment of this course will result in the issue of a Statement of Attainment for the 22575VIC VIC Course in Basic Oxygen Administration.
