Prepare to work safely in the construction industry-White Card
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)?This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The target group will be people requiring training to safely work on construction sites.
Also, this unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Copy of the student’s driver licence/Photo ID
- Complete Pre-course evaluation to ensure you have a level of language, literacy and numeracy skills to undertake the course, have a work-life balance so as to undertake self-paced study and have access to internet, email and social media
- Have the Foundation Skills described such as language, literacy, numeracy and employment skills that are essential to performance
