The SIT30622 Certificate III in Hospitality qualification is designed to equip workplace-based trainees and employees who are employed in a hospitality service role in industry with the necessary skills to perform the job role of a hospitality worker. This qualification provides a pathway to work in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs and licensed cafés in food and beverage service,

The purpose of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills required to work effectively in the hospitality industry in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice. The SIT30821 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery qualification is designed to equip workplace-based apprentices and employees who are employed in the role of a cook. This qualification provides a pathway to work as a cook in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes and catering production facilities.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide apprentices with a wide range of well-developed cookery skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations to prepare food and menu items. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

This course develops the practical skills and knowledge required to succeed in a high level supervisory or middle management role within business, governmental and not-for-profit organisations.

The course is specifically targeted at workers with more than five years work experience who possess the required technical skills and performance history in recent roles, but have been recently promoted, or are being considered for promotion into a leadership position with a degree of authority and autonomy over other personnel and/or organizational processes.

It is expected that students will have an existing level of knowledge and exposure to key facets of leadership and management within their organisation or sector and that the course will seek to build and expand upon that existing knowledge to the required level of competency, where that competency is not already achieved.

This qualification is designed to suit workplace-based trainees and employees who are employed in leadership or management roles within a retail environment. The SIT40422 Certificate IV in Hospitality qualification is designed to equip workplace-based trainees and employees who are employed in a hospitality supervisor role in industry with the necessary skills to perform the job role of a hospitality supervisor or manager. This qualification provides a pathway to work in supervisory roles within organisations such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs and licensed cafés.

The course is designed to give learners the necessary skills and knowledge to plan, monitor and evaluate the work of team members. They may operate independently or with limited guidance from others and use discretion to solve non-routine problems.

The BSB20120 Certificate II in Business qualification is designed to suit workplace-based trainees who are employed in an entry-level business, administrative or customer service environment. The qualification is developed to give participants entering the business and general related industries the necessary skills to perform the job role of a junior-level team member, typically with responsibility for executing defined tasks under supervision.

It is a comprehensive course designed to give participants entering the hospitality industry the necessary skills to perform the job role of a kitchen hand or assistant.

The qualification provides a pathway to work in many hospitality industry sectors, including apprentice chef, and is suitable for a diverse range of employers including restaurants, food service businesses and hotel and accommodation organisations.

These courses are designed for students who are seeking an alternative education pathway and are disengaged from employment or education. At a Foundation level, these courses teach students how to overcome barriers to learning whilst promoting self-confidence and resilience. Upon completion of this course, students will have developed some initial job-ready skills to help prepare them for further training and potentially employment.

The Certificate II Leadership course allows individuals to take the next step in developing skills to effectively manage themselves and is a pathway course to the BSB30120 – Certificate III in Business qualification as well as other Certificate II and III vocationally specific courses. This course supports individuals with their transition to employment, further education and community participation. Similar to the 52878WA – Certificate I Leadership, this course is typically packaged with a suite of electives that create an engaging learning experience.
