This course is for new entrants to the security industry looking to obtain a Security Licence. It is the first course you must complete. Asset College’s security guard course was developed with industry, for industry and delivered by trainers with decades of experience in the industry!
Asset College offers a number of employment support options to assist you while completing our security training program including employer connection events, pre-employment support sessions, assistance with resumes and VIP access to jobs not usually advertised to the public!

This course is delivered online followed by an 8 day workshop.
NSW
This course is delivered online followed by a 10 day workshop plus HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
VIC
Online plus 10 days face to face.
If you have not already completed your HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course the total in class days will be 11 days.
This qualification allows for the attainment of occupational specific competencies for those working in operational roles undertaking government investigation related functions, with a particular focus on meeting the ethical and legislative requirements of the public service. It is suitable for individuals who need to apply a broad range of specialised knowledge and skills in specific contexts within the investigations and regulatory compliance environment.
The generalist qualification covers the broad range of skills required to operate without supervision in a government investigations environment where an individual is required to plan, initiate, conduct and finalise an investigation.

All new screening officers and examination officers will be required to hold the AVI20118 Certificate II Transport Security Protection.
This qualification provides individuals with general and specialist skills to operate effectively in a broad range of transport security screening roles.
This qualification includes the units of competency required by Transport Security Screening Officers to perform transport security screening functions including air cargo examination. A Transport Security Screening Officer must also apply effective communication skills to work in a broad range of transport security protection roles.

This qualification provides an occupational licence outcome of a close protection operative.
This qualification is suitable for people within or entering the security industry who wish to specialise in the provision of close protection services. It provides a pathway to further learning and work in various security roles and settings, including security risk management.
Close protection operatives work in a team environment under limited supervision and use discretion and judgement in known and unpredictable work contexts. They take responsibility for their own outputs in work and learning, and limited responsibility for the output of others in the work team.

Security supervisors lead teams to coordinate and implement a range of security operations and functions such as control room, monitoring centre, electronic security and guarding. Security business managers coordinate security manpower and services to clients while operating under complex regulatory and contracting arrangements.

Compensation claims in Queensland are on the rise, and with this comes fraudulent activity and claims. This results in a high request for licensed Private Investigators.
Private Investigators are required in both civil and criminal investigation processes and are employed on a contract or in-house basis by both private and government organisations.
This is a qualification for investigators, responsible for factual investigation and inquiry work or covert surveillance operations. Investigators operate under limited supervision and use discretion and judgement to search for information about a person’s character, actions or work and gather evidence that may be used in court.
