Units covered include: customer service, social and cultural sensitivity, workplace health and safety, working with others, hygienic practices for food safety, responsible service of alcohol, preparing and serving espresso coffee, industry placement/work experience (12 service periods), plus more.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have a defined and limited range of hospitality operational skills and basic industry knowledge. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision.

- Responsibly assist customers to drink within appropriate limits
- Assist alcohol affected customers
- Refuse service to customers in a professional manner
This course offers hands on training and experience to students with the ability to learn the vocational skills for work in the wine industry. A range of specialist electives are included covering skills used in the following wine industry operational areas:
- Bottling and packaging
- Cellar operations
- Wine grape growing
This course is available to the Stanthorpe State High School (SSHS) vocational pathway students and is a packaged certificate with the AHC20316 Certificate II in Production Horticulture.
