This course is for people who are aiming to work in the operating theatre as a technician and/or are already working in this area and would like to upskill and/or undertake leadership roles to become senior theatre technician. Operating theatre technician prepare and maintain operating theatres, equipment and assist surgical and anaesthetic teams during operations.

The operating theatre technician is an integral person in the dynamic operating theatre team. One of the key roles is the preparation of the operating room and equipment, the patient and the maintenance and safety of these. This course and its blended program is an open entry for those who wish to work in the as a Team Leader / Senior Technician and/or are already working in the area of sterilisation and reprocessing of instruments within a hospital health service. You do not have to undertake the Certificate IIII qualification first. Students need to attend sessions on site. The program is not offered via distance education. Classes are run on a regular day of the week on a part time basis (usually every 2 weeks).

The Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education is for qualified practitioners who want to specialise in diabetes management and education to deliver improved patient care and education programs.

The Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education is accredited by the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) and Tertiary Education Skills Quality Standards Agency Provider (TEQSA) under the Higher Education Standards Framework. This qualification will provide eligible health professionals with the qualification to practice as Diabetes Educators. Students must attain 4 credit points and successfully complete a 40-hour clinical placement whilst enrolled to obtain the Graduate Certificate.
