This qualification reflects the role of community services workers involved in the delivery, management and coordination of person-centred services to individuals, groups, and communities.

Workers support people to make change in their lives to improve personal and social wellbeing and may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers. They may also undertake case management and program coordination.

This qualification reflects the role of counsellors, who work with clients on personal and psychological issues using established counselling modalities. They use communication, micro-counselling and interviewing skills and draw on varied counselling therapies to assist clients. At this level, the counsellor will be working in defined and supported counselling roles in established agencies rather than in independent practice.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

These individuals take responsibility for their own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

This qualification reflects the role of those who work in youth and family intervention, including practice specialisations in family support. Workers operate under a broad supervision framework and within clearly defined organisational guidelines, service plans and position specifications.

The HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid course equips you with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide a first aid response to a casualty, following the first aid guidelines established by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other national clinical bodies.

By completing this course, you will gain the ability to respond to a variety of emergency situations, making you prepared to provide first aid in both community and workplace settings.

The HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course teaches you the essential skills and knowledge to handle cardiac arrest situations, which can be life-threatening emergencies. By completing this course, you will gain the ability to potentially save lives in critical moments.

This course is suitable for anyone who may be required to administer CPR in various settings, including community and workplace environments.

The program covers how to perform CPR according to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, ensuring you are well-equipped to respond confidently in emergency situations.

The Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting course is a specialized training program designed for educators, childcare workers, and support staff. It equips participants with essential skills and knowledge to respond effectively to first aid emergencies in environments where children and infants are present.

This nationally recognized course focuses on managing common injuries, illnesses, and accidents in education and care settings, ensuring participants can provide timely and appropriate care.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a range of community settings and peoples’ homes, who provide support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work according to and may contribute to an individualised plan, and work without direct supervision. They may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.
