Fee-Free TAFE (QLD) is a government-led initiative that enables eligible residents of Queensland to pursue a fully accredited diploma, certificate qualification, or short course at no cost.
This program is designed to address skill shortages in key industries, offering robust employment opportunities post-training. It prioritizes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, unpaid carers, young adults, women, individuals with disabilities, and those out of work.
A diverse array of qualifications is available in high-demand sectors such as aged care, hospitality, nursing and healthcare, information technology, construction, agriculture, childcare, disability support, and manufacturing.
Eligibility for Fee-Free TAFE includes being at least 15 years old, residing or working in QLD, being an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or holding a valid visa, and not currently attending school.
Training can be undertaken not only at TAFE institutes but also through various approved Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) across the state, all part of this initiative.
