The Certificate 3 Guarantee is a subsidised training program for eligible students living in Queensland. The Queensland Government provides funding for a range of Certificate III qualifications as well as foundation skills training.
The Certificate 3 Guarantee supports eligible individuals to complete their first post-school certificate III qualification. It also supports school students to access training and Year 12 graduates to transition to employment by providing free training in high priority qualifications.
Eligible students are only entitled to access one government subsidised Certificate III qualification. Students are encouraged to really take the time to consider the course you are choosing and make sure it is right for you because once enrolled your entitlement is considered finished.
To be eligible for Certificate 3 Guarantee funding you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or an Australian permanent resident, or a temporary resident with an eligible visa subclass; be 15 years old or over; live in Queensland and have left school (some VET in Schools students may be eligible); not already have, or be enrolled in, a certificate III level or higher qualification.
Tiered Subsidies
The amount of government funding varies according to the qualification. Higher subsidies are allocated to industries with skill shortages or qualifications that develop important economic and industry skills.
Fees Payable by Students
Students who enrol in courses under the Certificate 3 Guarantee are required to contribute to the costs of their training through a co-contribution fee. The fee varies and depends on the course selected as well as the training provider.
