At this level, workers have responsibility for planning and monitoring service delivery, recruitment and performance management of other paid or unpaid workers, managing risk and contributing to continuous improvement within the scope of their specific role. This may include management of a specific programs or project, or broader management of a community-based organisation, early childhood education service, not-for-profit organisation or community centre.

Care Supervisors are employed in residential facilities where they undertake work related tasks to maintain an individual’s wellbeing through personal care and/or other activities of living. They may also provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people. Work includes supervising others and may include training and support to promote independence and community participation, which may be provided as part of activities and programs in a variety of settings including residential and centre-based programs.
This course qualifies support workers to supervise a group of older people and manage/ coordinate a number of support workers in a team leader role.
