Tax Agent

Tax Agents are qualified accounting professionals who help clients with their annual tax returns as well as GST, superannuation, and PAYG instalments. They also provide expert advice on business structuring, planning, cashflow, and complex taxation matters. Tax Agents are registered with the Australian Tax Practitioner’s Board (TPG).

As a Tax Agent, your work day might include: reviewing the documents and group certificates of an individual client, examining the income and expenditure of a business client, generating a BAS statement and advising the client of their GST obligations, updating a client on new tax deductions they can claim, generating end-of-year totals, or lodging a tax return with the ATO.

To be successful in this role you will need an eye for detail, great problem-solving skills, and a working knowledge of Australian Taxation Law. Tax Agents also need excellent interpersonal skills so they can easily advise and update clients on tax matters.
