Credit Specialist

A Credit Specialist works in the loan application department of a bank or financial institution or for a credit brokerage company. You’ll assess loan applications and make recommendations to approve or decline client requests. Credit Specialists analyse financial information, conduct risk assessments and prepare paperwork for successful applications.

Credit Specialists should have strong customer service skills and excellent analytical abilities. You’ll need to be able to follow correct procedures and have a strong knowledge of financial products and systems. Credit Specialists must have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. It’s important you are organised and can manage your time well.
