Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multiskilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, food and beverage and gaming.

BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level provide leadership, guidance and support for others. They also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of their team.

They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.

They may plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.

The Certificate III in Process Manufacturing provides the competencies required by advanced production workers who use a range of equipment and provide support functions directly related to producing products. They would undertake more advanced roles than workers with a Certificate II in Process Manufacturing, working in accordance with operating procedures and applying knowledge to anticipate problems and solve a range of foreseen and unforeseen problems.

MSS40322 Certificate IV in Competitive Systems and Practices applies to team leaders or others who are responsible for facilitating and monitoring the implementation of competitive systems and practices to improve efficiency in a team or work area and own work role. Individuals apply broad knowledge and analytical skills to facilitate change and improve efficiency.

This qualification complements but does not duplicate qualifications which cover the specific operational or technical skills required in an industry or job role. The qualification is an add-on, or overlay, for a person who has existing skills in their work for example in production, logistics, administration, healthcare, maintenance, financial services, warehousing, agribusinesses or other industries or job roles.

MSS30322 Certificate III in Competitive Systems and Practices applies to individuals who apply competitive systems and practices to their own work, contribute to identifying improvements and, where required, assist others to apply competitive systems and practices to their work.

This qualification provides a mixture of fundamental and more advanced skills in competitive systems and practices. It can also provide skills in guiding and assisting others in the competitive systems and practices environment.

This qualification complements but does not duplicate qualifications which cover the specific operational or technical skills required in an industry or job role. The qualification is an add-on, or overlay, for a person who has existing skills in their work for example in production, logistics, administration, healthcare, maintenance, financial services, warehousing, agribusinesses or other industries or job roles.

FBP40421 Certificate IV in Food Science and Technology targets those working in technical and supervisory roles covering product development, food safety and quality, food production and distribution, environmental functions, and the maintenance and monitoring of food processing systems. The job roles require specialist technical skills and knowledge in food science and technology to complete routine and non-routine tasks and functions, and workers have responsibility for their own functions and outputs, along with limited responsibility for the output of others.

This qualification offers an optional specialisation in Food Safety Auditing. Users interested in this option must refer to relevant state, territory and Commonwealth food safety legislation and the National Regulatory Food Safety Auditor Guideline and Policy for details of auditing requirements in low, medium and high-risk settings, and to understand the food safety auditing work context.

FBP30822 Certificate III in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing describes the skills and knowledge for production and packaging roles carried out under broad supervision within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. Individuals with this qualification perform tasks involving a broad range of skills that are applied in a wide variety of contexts, which will involve discretion and judgement in selecting and operating equipment, coordinating resources and applying contingency measures during work.

The FBP30121 Certificate III in Food Processing reflects the role of individuals working as operators in a food processing environment who have responsibility for overseeing all or part of a processing plant and related equipment. They are required to work autonomously, use judgement, interpret information, and apply solutions to routine and some non-routine problems. They may also take some responsibility for the output of others.

BSB41919 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety applies to individuals working in a work health and safety (WHS) role who provide a broad range of technical knowledge and skills, and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.

The qualification applies to those working as supervisors, WHS personnel, and workers in other WHS-related roles who manage risks effectively, apply relevant WHS laws, and contribute to WHS within the workplace in known or changing contexts with established parameters.

FBP40321 Certificate IV in Food Processing reflects the role of workers who work in supervisory or middle management roles within food processing environments. Workers contribute specialist technical skills and knowledge to solve food production problems and supervise the work of others. Emphasis is on monitoring the implementation and quality control of food processing systems and procedures for optimal performance.

TLI30321 Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations is a qualification for those engaged in supply chain operations and includes specialisations for logistics and warehousing operations.

It involves a defined range of skilled operations, usually within a range of broader related activities involving known routines, methods and procedures, where some discretion and judgement is required in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures within known time constraints. It may also include responsibility for coordinating the work of others.

FBP20122 Certificate II in Food Processing describes the skills and knowledge required for those who work in operational roles, under supervision, in a food processing environment. At this level, workers have the technical skills to use a limited range of machinery and/or equipment to process food and carry out routine tasks guided by established procedures.

All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, in accordance with state/territory food safety, and health and safety codes, regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.

FBP50121 Diploma of Food Science and Technology reflects the role of workers who apply specialist knowledge and skills in food science and technology to food product development and to quality assurance of food manufacturing. They conduct a wide range of specialist tasks to develop, monitor and evaluate food products, including production trials.

Workers contribute to the modification of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and enterprise methods when necessary. They may also have a role in the planning new work and monitoring resources in their work area.

Legislative and regulatory requirements apply to food safety and are enforced through state/territory jurisdictions. Users must check with the relevant regulatory authority before delivery.

FBP40522 Certificate IV in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing reflects the skills and knowledge for team leaders, supervisors and specialist technical roles within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required by a manager or technical specialist to determine and supervise the strategy for implementing competitive systems and practices in an organisation and the organisation’s value chain.
