Shift Manager

A Shift Manager oversees operations at a bar, restaurant or dining venue. You’ll supervise a team of staff during a particular shift and make sure the facility is running smoothly. Shift Managers deal with any issues that arise and ensure customers are being looked after. You might take bookings over the phone, check supplies are available when needed and attend to any special functions taking place.

Shift Managers must be highly organised and able to handle several tasks at one time. It’s important you can work well in busy periods and must show strong leadership with your team. Shift Managers should have strong customer service skills and must be able to communicate well. You’ll often have to work irregular hours such as nights, weekends and holidays.
