Intake Worker

An Intake Worker conducts initial assessments of clients at welfare services such as mental health clinics or drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities. You might examine a client’s needs and make recommendations for support. Intake Workers might carry out risk assessments and gather relevant information before coordinating a care plan or referring a client to other services.

Intake Workers require excellent communication skills and should be able to liaise with a range of stakeholders. It’s important you have good interpersonal skills and can understand clients’ individual circumstances. Intake Workers should be able to follow correct procedures and manage the needs of several clients at one time.
