Nationally recognised VET qualification which gives students 4 credits towards a QCE. There are no formal qualification entry requirements. This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of junior administrative positions who perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context. Individuals in these roles generally work under direct supervision.
Learn moreCertificate II in Hospitality is a VET qualification, which is nationally recognised. This is a practical course focused on 'front of house' activities. These include barista skills, preparation of non-alcoholic beverages, working in teams and service at the school restaurant. A Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Gambling Services courses are a part of the program. Students must complete 12 service periods in the hospitality industry.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in the hospitality industry as a bar attendant, catering assistant, food and beverage attendant, front office assistant, porter and room attendant.
Learn moreCertificate II in Kitchen Operations is a VET qualification, which is nationally recognised. This qualification is delivered under an agreement with another Registered Training Organisation and students who enrol in this course will use their VETiS funding. This is a practical course focused on 'back of house' activities. These include the preparation and presentation of simple dishes, appetisers, salads and sandwiches in the school's commercial kitchen, as well as espresso coffee and non-alcoholic beverages. A Responsible Service of Alcohol is part of the program. Students must complete 12 service periods in the hospitality industry as part of the course requirements.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in the hospitality industry as a cook, sandwich hand and catering assistant and is the first step in a career as a chef.
Learn moreThe Certificate III in Live Production and Services at NDSHS is structured in such a way that students will have pathway options which allow them to specialize in 2 of 3 areas – Lighting, Audio or Stage Management.
Students are encouraged to demonstrate their competencies by planning and managing the variety of cultural events on the school calendar and for community events. Entertainment students also manage the Technology Learning Centre and school’s Radio.
This is a practical course and students are expected to work outside regular school hours.

Graduates will be competent in a range of essential skills – such as undertaking client health assessments, planning and delivering fitness programs, and conducting group fitness sessions in indoor and outdoor fitness settings, including with older adult clients.
