You will be introduced to working in the field of early childhood and provide education and care to children in a range of services. You can help plan and deliver educational programs that focus on supporting children’s wellbeing, learning and development. It is the minimum qualification to gain employment in ACECQA approved early childhood services and often the qualification studied for those wanting to begin their career in early childhood education.

This qualification reflects the role of community service workers who design and deliver person-centred services to individuals and/or groups. Work may take place in a range of community service, case work or case management contexts. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 100 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.

One of the key or foundations requirements is to have completed a relevant qualification such as CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support with a focus on Aged Care. Having additional industry work experience can be an added benefit. Students may undertake this course as an entry pathway into the aged care or disability care industry. The Certificate is directed towards developing multi-skilled workers for the broad range of services supporting aged people and the disabled in residential and community settings.

This course will prepare you for a job in the disability sector. It’s an entry-level qualification for working in disability services, which can mean working in a residential facility that services people with disabilities or for a community services organisation that provides disability services. You’ll gain the skills and knowledge you need to support the personal care, wellbeing and daily activities of people living with an intellectual or physical disability.

This qualification reflects the role of workers who are middle managers or managers across a range of community sector organisations. These people work independently and report to executive management, directors or boards of management. They undertake a range of functions requiring the application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with the organisation’s goals and strategic directions.

This course will prepare you for a job as a support worker in a residential aged care facility or home care environment. It’s designed for people who hold a Certificate III qualification or have sufficient experience in the industry. People working at this level may be a supervisor or manage the performance of other team members.

With this Certificate under your belt, you will be able to complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community-based environments. This course will equip you to provide self directed services to people affected by mental illness, psychiatric disability or drug and alcohol dependencies, by implementing community-focused health promotion and prevention strategies and working within the frameworks of trauma-informed care. You can work in a range of community contexts such as community-based non-government organisations; home based outreach; centre-based programs; respite care; residential services, rehabilitation programs; clinical settings; or supporting people in employment.

The CHC50221 Diploma of School Age Education and Care is a 12-to-24-month qualification for those wishing to lead an education and care program for children outside of the school environment. Through the Diploma qualification, you will learn what it means to provide a program for school age children and work in a position of responsibility.

This course will qualify you to work within a community development framework, plan and conduct group activities, and work with people from diverse backgrounds. The CHC33021 - Certificate III in Individual Support Ageing & Disability is a comprehensive program designed to equip individuals with the essential skills and knowledge required to provide high-quality person-centered care and support to individuals who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. This nationally recognized qualification focuses on developing the competencies necessary for working in various care settings, including aged care facilities, disability services, home care, and community support.

This certificate course will prepare you for work as a disability support worker in a client’s home or a community organisation. You’ll help people with an intellectual or physical disability, by empowering them to become more independent and self-reliant, so they can participate in community activities. People working at this level may be a supervisor or manage the performance of other team members.

Consider CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability to help people with disabilities live life to the fullest. You will learn to provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and well-being. This skill set addresses the skills and knowledge required to provide entry level support for basic client care for a range of roles and purposes required within the aged care and disability support sectors. The support provided in client care will be predominantly non-direct, with some basic direct client care, in order to maintain the safety of both the learner and client in care.
