The purpose of this course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to become a counsellor. The course is structured to combine theory with practical placement and is directed towards providing participants with relevant skills, knowledge, and values necessary to have as professional Counsellor.

This qualification reflects the role of counsellors, who work with clients on personal and psychological issues using established counselling modalities. They use communication, micro-counselling and interviewing skills and draw on varied counselling therapies to assist clients. At this level, the counsellor will be working in defined and supported counselling roles in established agencies rather than in independent practice.

This qualification reflects the role of workers who are middle managers or managers across a range of community sector organisations. These people work independently and report to executive management, directors or boards of management. They undertake a range of functions requiring the application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with the organisation’s goals and strategic directions.

At this level, workers will have responsibility for planning and monitoring service delivery, recruitment and performance management of other paid or unpaid workers, whilst also managing risk and contributing to continuous improvement within the scope of their specific role. This may include management of specific programs or project, or broader management of a community-based organisation, early childhood education service, not-for-profit organisation or community centre.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to work within the Ageing Support service sector. The qualification is structured to combine theory with practical placement and is directed towards providing students with relevant skills, knowledge and values necessary to have as professional ageing support workers.

This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community-based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.

The course is structured to combine theory with practical placement and is directed towards providing students with relevant skills, knowledge, and values necessary to have as professional Counsellor.

This qualification reflects the role of workers, who provide services to clients in relation to mental health issues. They can provide counselling, referral, advocacy, and education/health promotion services. These workers are required to have high level specialist knowledge, skills, and competencies especially regarding laws affection people with mental health issues, the range of services available to them and health issues related to mental health.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to work within the Disability Service Sector. The qualification is structured to combine theory with practical placement and is directed towards providing participants with relevant skills, knowledge and values necessary to have as professional Disability Services Sector workers.

This qualification reflects the roles of all Disability Services workers involved in the managing, coordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to work within the Community Services industry. The qualification is structured to combine theory with practical placement and is directed towards providing students with a solid foundation and set of values that will allow them to excel in their chosen Community Services Role.

This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, coordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.

This qualification reflects the roles of all who work in youth and family intervention, including specialisation in residential and out of home care, family support and early intervention. Workers operate under a broad supervision framework and within clearly defined organisational guidelines, service plans and position specifications.
