Certificate IV in Hospitality
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This course is only available to Victorian residents.
Our SIT40422 Certificate IV in Hospitality covers RSA, food handlers certificate (RSF), bar, cocktail making, speed pouring, beer pouring, coffee making, food and beverage service, wine knowledge, how to open/close/manage a venue and other key leadership skills.
With multiple class days and times, we will have a choice to suit you and your lifestyle.
Course Duration:
This course is made up of 10 practical sessions in our training facility, plus self-paced theory online and 36 service periods.
We have intensive classes held full-time for 2 weeks, or classes that are held one day each week for 6 hours.
The average duration of this course is 4-10 months depending on your choice of class and ability to complete your service periods and assessments.

Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
It is strongly recommended that individuals undertake lower-level qualifications, and/or gain industry experience prior to entering the qualification.

- VIC Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the VIC Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
You may be eligible for a Victorian government-subsidised place through the Skills First Program we are contracted to deliver. Funded places are limited in 2025.
Course fees & costs depend on whether you are eligible for a government subsidy with fund made available by the Victorian & Commonwealth Governments.
Basic Funding Eligibility Criteria (other conditions may apply):
- Evidence of citizenship/residency, you must be either: a. an Australian citizen; b. a holder of a permanent visa; or c. a New Zealand citizen
- You can enrol in a maximum of 2 funded qualifications and 2 funded skills sets in one year
- You can undertake up to 2 funded programs at one time
- At SIU we require you to be 17 and over and not enrolled in high school to access funding
