Gain the skills to work in restaurants and hotels around the world with a Certificate III in Hospitality. Students in this course will develop core skills in:
- Sales
- Operations and hospitality service
- Providing responsible service of alcohol
- Preparation and service of espresso coffee
- Food and beverage service
- Hygienic practices for food safety
- Customer Service
Students will learn to work with independence and implement workplace policies and procedures. This qualification also allows students to gain specialist skills in accommodation services, food and beverage, or gaming.

- There are no mandated entry requirements.
GOTAFE entry requirements
- Complete a Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) online test to ensure the required literacy & numeracy levels for the course are met.
- Undertake a Pre-training Review by interview to ensure the course suits their needs and aspirations, and that they are likely to complete the course successfully.
School-based apprentices and trainees
Please apply through an Apprenticeship Network Provider with your employer to organise your apprenticeship/traineeship contract prior to applying for this course.
Mandatory employment in the hospitality industry is required to complete the Traineeship or School-based Apprenticeship.
Technical requirements
Access to a laptop/computer with internet access.
Access to a digital camera or video camera for visual and audio assessment tasks.
