Course Structure and Duration
This 14-month course offers a balanced approach, combining theoretical learning with practical application. You'll dive deep into the anatomy and physiology of the human body, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how the body functions. This foundation will enable you to effectively identify and treat trigger points, as well as diagnose muscle pain and discomfort.
You will also study the science and theory behind each massage technique and develop a solid grasp of ethical practice, work health and safety, and professional client consultation skills.
Practical Learning Experience
Practical learning is a key component of this course, with 200 hours of Clinical Hours included. You'll gain hands-on experience in our Remedial Massage student clinic on campus, where you'll apply your knowledge under the guidance of our qualified trainers and assessors. During this time, you'll explore a range of massage techniques, understand their effects on muscle nerves, and create individualised treatment plans for effective pain management.
On-Campus Learning and Networking
With 2 days of on-campus classes per week, you'll have the opportunity to engage directly with your trainer and peers, enhancing your learning experience and deepening your understanding of the subject matter. You will have 24/7 access to the learning management system, allowing you to access your study materials and resources at your own pace, anytime and anywhere.
Additional Skills for Success
Beyond massage techniques, this course provides valuable knowledge in small business planning and marketing, equipping you with the skills to start and manage your own successful Remedial Massage Business.
Career and Further Opportunities
Upon completing the HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage, you'll be qualified to apply for registration with all the health fund providers, giving your clients access to medical rebates for your services. This qualification also opens the door to further academic studies and professional development opportunities.
