Also known as ‘Senior First Aid', the HLTAID011 Provide first aid course is the minimum requirement by Workplace Health & Safety legislation for the workplace first aider. The aim of this course is to develop the skills and knowledge required to develop competence and confidence in providing an emergency first aid response. This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision-making, and basic life support functions including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
This program incorporates the content of units HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation and HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support. (Valid Australia wide)
