Tenancy Officer

A Tenancy Officer works with current and prospective tenants to manage their housing needs. You may have to source appropriate housing, find suitable tenants for a property or act as a liaison point between tenants and their landlord, real estate agent or housing provider. Your role as a Tenancy Officer may require you to prepare contracts or ensure bond and rent is paid, organise repairs or maintenance on a property or settle disputes between tenants and other parties.

A Tenancy Officer needs to have really good people skills. You’ll be working with a wide range of people and will often have to negotiate between interested parties. You’ll need to be organised as your tenancy portfolio will involve many tenants in various properties. Tenancy Officers are usually good problem solvers and you’ll also have to stay up to date with the latest industry laws and regulations.
