Speech Pathologist Assistant

A Speech Pathology Assistant works with clients on programs that develop their communication skills. You’ll follow a program prepared by a speech pathologist which might involve improving speech techniques, using communication signs or using an assisted augmentative communication device. Speech Pathology Assistants might work with clients in their own home or at a speech pathology clinic.

Speech Pathology Assistants need to be patient and understand the needs of their clients. You should have excellent personal skills and be able to communicate well with clients from a range of backgrounds. It’s important that you are organised and can follow a program of instructions.
