Immigration Consultant

Immigration Consultants provide advisory services to individuals (and families) who want to migrate to Australia. They prepare and lodge visa applications on behalf of clients, at the same time providing expert advice on visa options, legal technicalities, and pathways to citizenship.

As an Immigration Consultant you could be assessing a client’s eligibility for a range of visas, checking client documents to ensure they meet government requirements, lodging an electronic visa application on the Home Affairs website, or undertaking continuing professional development training (CPD) to keep your skills and knowledge up-to-date.

To succeed in this occupation you will need outstanding interpersonal skills and an extensive knowledge of immigration laws, policies, and procedures.

PLEASE NOTE: In Australia, Immigration Consultants are called Registered Migration Agents and must be accredited with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA).
