Mayfair College has been a registered training organisation (RTO) since 2005, delivering nationally accredited qualifications, industry recognised short courses and regulatory licensing courses to the hospitality industry; this includes Front of House courses and Back of House. The College has a clear focus on delivering these courses and qualifications under the guidelines of the VET (Vocational Education and Training) Quality Framework. We also adopt a clear mandate of ensuring Mayfair College remains compliant with the Standards for National Registered Training Organisations to ensure students are given every opportunity to succeed with their training.
This qualification reflects the role of cooks who use a wide range of well-developed cookery skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations to prepare food and menu items. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.
Completion of this qualification contributes to recognition as a trade cook.
