This unit provides you with the skills and knowledge required to provide First Aid response to a casualty including life support and management of the casualty(s) injuries or illness until medical aid arrives. This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide first aid response in a range of situations, including individual needs, community or workplace settings. This course was previously known as “Senior First Aid” or “Workplace Level 2” or “Apply First Aid”.

This unit provides you with the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. Participants who successfully complete this accredited training program can become registered as a Spotter by Energy Safe Victoria. This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to undertake Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) induction training within the construction industry. It requires the ability to identify and explain OHS legislative requirements and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry. Licensing requirements will apply to this unit of competency depending on the regulatory requirements of each jurisdiction. This unit relates directly to the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work (ASCC 2007)

Workers operating an EWP that has a reach height of 11 metres or higher need to hold a licence for high-risk work (TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform).

This course is for operators of elevating work platforms/scissor lifts that do not have the capacity to exceed 11 metres in height.

An elevating work platform is a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device or any combination of these used to support a platform on which personnel/workers, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work. They may be called; EWP, Cherry Picker, Sky-Workers, Scissor Lift, Trailer-Mounted Lifts, Sky-Cranes or Boom Lifts.

This course covers all aspects of entering and working in confined spaces. Persons attending this course will be instructed in the safe entry, safe work and safe exit of confined spaces having regard to the legislative and operational requirements. This course is suitable for persons entering, persons on stand-by and issuing persons. Participants will be provided with both theory and practical components of Confined space entry tasks. This course includes the use of atmospheric equipment and other confined space equipment. This course does not include breathing apparatus.

The Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) course covers the performance of rescue procedures from live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the workplace.

This program is delivered as either an Initial or Refresher Delivery subject to the participants’ currency levels and prior LV rescue certification history.

This unit covers the competency required to operate a 4×4 vehicle on unsealed roads safely and in line with organisational requirements. This involves operating a 4×4 vehicle in a variety of work settings. The skills and knowledge required for competent workplace performance are to be used within the scope of the person’s job and authority.

This unit covers the competency required to recover 4×4 vehicles in difficult terrain and a variety of work settings. This includes using different vehicle jacks in different terrains and environmental conditions. Using a winch and a snatch block (2:1) in difficult terrain, using ground anchor points in a range of terrain types that reflect local conditions. Using other types of recovery equipment in a safe and efficient manner and to demonstrate competency and consistency of performance.
