Certificate IV in Information Technology
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)This course provides the required skills and knowledge to be competent in a wide range of general Information Communication Technology (ICT) roles. It includes study streams designed and developed to provide specific ICT skills to career pathways in Network Administration and Programming and Web Applications.
The Network Administration stream focuses on creating and maintaining Local Area Network (LAN), Virtual Private Network (VPN) and Wireless Area Network (WAN) environments. This includes configuring routing and multiple layers of switching, scripting, end point security and attack mitigation. It includes systems administration, security, desktop, threat response and mitigation, imaging, packet tracing and cloud.
The Programming and Web Applications stream offers an elective pathway in object orientated programming, automation and building graphical user interfaces (JAVA, C++, Python, testing), designing static and dynamic websites (HTML & CSS, JavaScript, PHP), database design and modelling, and data management (Oracle SQL and PL/SQL).

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Programming and Web Applications: Potential students with no previous exposure to web design or coding may prefer to consider starting with the Certificate III or Statement of Attainment.
Network Administration and Infrastructure: students are recommended to have IT industry experience, and/or a good understanding of IP addressing, networked environments including an understanding of Active Directory Infrastructure, group policy, and creating and maintaining local area networks, or have completed a Major in IT in YR12 encompassing CISCO training. Alternatively, it is recommended you complete the networking and programming elective units from either Statement of Attainment in networking, or Certificate III in Information Technology to support your learning journey.
