Certificate IV in Community Services

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

This qualification reflects the role of community service workers who design and deliver person-centred services to individuals and/or groups. Workers may provide support, advocacy or interventions to individual clients, groups or communities across a range of services.

At this level, workers may be autonomous with limited responsibility within established parameters and may be required to supervise and lead other workers in projects or teams. Work may take place in a range of community service, casework or case management contexts.

This course will contain discussions, media and assessment material that covers sensitive topics that can evoke strong emotional responses in some individuals, including: (for example, but not limited to) sexual violence,, family violence, abuse, racism, mental health and trauma. Please be aware that if you have any unresolved or unsupported trauma in your personal life this may be triggered by the content, please take the opportunity to speak to one of our teaching staff to discuss.

This course has simulations, roles plays and presentations, these are designed specifically to develop skills ready for the real work environment and are a compulsory part of the curriculum and our assessment requirements to meet compliance for your qualification.
