Museum Assistant

A Museum Assistant works in a museum or cultural centre. You might be in a customer service role where you greet visitors, answer their questions and take guided tours of exhibitions. Museum Assistants also provide support with preparing and maintaining displays, moving artefacts and preparing multimedia information.

Museum Assistants should have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate well with people from a range of backgrounds. You may need to be knowledgeable about particular exhibits at a museum and should be passionate about passing this information onto visitors. Museum Assistants should be organised and able to follow directions.
