A Litigation Lawyer, or Litigator, acts on behalf of a client during legal action. You might gather information to prepare for court cases and appear in court to represent your client. Litigation Lawyers provide legal advice and guide their client during legal proceedings. You might specialise in particular cases such as criminal, family or property law cases.

Litigation Lawyers must be excellent communicators and be confident speaking in a court of law. It’s important you have strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail. Litigation Lawyers must be able to follow correct procedures and work with multiple clients at one time. You’ll need to have good personal skills and be able to work with clients from a range of backgrounds.
