Assistant Underwriter

An Assistant Underwriter supports colleagues as they assess applications for loans, credit or insurance policies. You might work for an insurance company, a bank or other financial institution. Assistant Underwriters provide assistance by collecting financial information from applicants, doing administrative tasks during the processing of the application and preparing documents for successful applicants.

Assistant Underwriters liaise with colleagues and clients so good communication skills are essential. You’ll need to be organised and be able to manage your time well. Assistant Underwriters should be able to use a range of business equipment and financial software. It’s important that you can follow directions and have good attention to detail.
