Assistant Pastry Chef
An Assistant Pastry Chef helps to prepare patisserie items such as pastries, biscuits and tarts. You might create elaborate decorations for cakes and desserts or prepare sweet fillings for a range of items. Assistant Pastry Chefs work under the instruction of a patissier or head pastry chef and may perform other duties such as cleaning kitchen equipment, checking supplies and ordering new stock.
Assistant Pastry Chefs should have a passion for fine desserts and have excellent attention to detail. It’s important that you can follow instructions and work as part of a team. Assistant Pastry Chefs must be able to prioritise their tasks and manage their time well. Depending on your workplace, you may have to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays.
