Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

Use Hygenic Practices for Food Safety applies to businesses with permanent or temporary kitchen premises or smaller food preparation or bar areas.

In Queensland, all food handlers are required to complete food safety training, this includes anyone who handles food directly or works with surfaces that might come into contact with food, such as cutlery, plates and bowls during the course of their daily work activities. This includes cooks, chefs, caterers, kitchen stewards, kitchen hands, bar, and food and beverage attendants, and sometimes room attendants and front office staff.
