Human Resource Management
- MMH701 - Human Resource Strategy: This unit provides an in-depth understanding of theories and models of strategic human resource management and how they are applied in organisations to enhance performance. It includes an understanding of the synergy between an organisation’s strategic direction, the strategic use of its people resources, and the HR systems and practices that are necessary to achieve an organisation’s goals.
- MMH702 - Strategic Staffing: This unit aims to contribute to student understanding of four core parts of strategic staffing, namely: (1) the staffing context; (2) recruitment; (3) personnel selection; and (4) retention management. As we will see, these four parts each play a key role in facilitating the movement of talent into, through, and out of the organisation in a way that enables the organisation to compete successfully in its marketplace.
- MMH704 - Managing and Rewarding Performance: This unit provides students with the skills to examine, analyse, and critically evaluate the role which human resource management plays in managing the rewards and performance of individuals and groups in organisations. The first part of the unit focuses on performance and the second part on reward. The unit considers performance appraisals as just one aspect of performance management and equips students with the skills to construct performance and rewards strategies for organisations in both domestic and international contexts.
- MMH709 - Workplace Relations: This unit presents an overview of employment relations in an Australian and international context. It focuses on the way employment relationships are managed within a framework of change. The unit sets out the unique nature of the employment relationship, adopting historical and theoretical frameworks of analysis and introduces students to different modes of bargaining.
