Certificate IV in Conservation and Ecosystem Management

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

This qualification will allow you to investigate and broaden your knowledge of the entire ecosystem and its related sectors: conservation, vegetation, ecology, agriculture, indigenous culture, and more. You will gain skills in conservation and learn more about the importance of protecting species from extinction, maintaining and restoring habitats, enhancing ecosystem services, and protecting biological diversity. Certificate IV also serves as a pathway for further learning.

Some of the key skills you will develop as part of this course include research skills, how to design educational programs, how to conduct site inspections, planning revegetation works, producing maps and developing data sheets to monitor biodiversity.

As part of this course, you will also learn about the role that drones have to play in this ecosystem management. In the future, all farmers and land managers will use technology devices (drones) to survey monitor and assist in the decision making process. The precise application of devices comes down to creative minds and smart automated algorithm inputs; Agribots will manage weeding, fertilizing and harvesting systems. Bio security risk will be controlled by sensors that will relay vital information to a central database. Rare and endangered species will monitored and tracked for evidence of habitat and ecological improvements.
