Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThe Bachelor of Communication is offered through Open Universities Australia (OUA). Students will qualify for this degree after the completion of at least eight Griffith units along with two majors of six units each, chosen from either Business Communication, Creative Writing, Journalism, Public Relations or Screen and Media Studies, plus the core units, associated prerequisites, and the required number of free-choice electives.
As an Open Universities Australia student, you are not required to study on-campus. You may complete the Bachelor of Communication entirely off-campus through Open Universities Australia. To be classed as a full-time student, you must enrol in at least two units per study period.
If you commenced your studies from 2016, you will have up to 8 years to complete your program. If you commenced your studies prior to 2016, you will have up to 10 years to complete your program.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
To be eligible for an offer of admission made through Open Universities Australia (OUA) for a Commonwealth Supported Place at Griffith University, an applicant must:
- Meet the criteria for a domestic Australian student;
- AND have one of the following:
- Have completed at least two OUA undergraduate units with a minimum GPA of 4.0 completed within the last 12 months at the time of application for admission
- Achieved a minimum ATAR/Rank of 65.00 through the completion of senior secondary studies
- Achieved a minimum assessed Rank of 65.00 through the completion of studies in an accepted qualification
