Organisational Psychologist

Organisational Psychologists are qualified psychologists who specialise in workplace culture and human resource development. They evaluate and study the dynamics of an organisation and make recommendations to improve productivity and safety as well as employee expertise and wellbeing. They often provide one-on-one and group coaching sessions to develop key staff members.

As an Organisational Psychologist you could be developing a performance appraisal system for departmental managers, collaborating with the Human Resources Manager to implement a new recruitment process, reviewing the results of psychometric testing on recent job candidates, meeting with the sales manager to discuss the training needs of the sales and marketing department, or attending professional development training to keep your psychology accreditation up-to-date.

To succeed in this occupation you will need to be highly organised and have a natural desire to bring out the best in people. At the same time, you’ll be very confident writing reports and presenting your recommendations to key decision-makers.
