A Correctional Emergency Response Officer provides assistance during dangerous incidents at a correctional facility. You might develop procedures for emergency responses and perform risk assessments. Correctional Emergency Response Officers may attend incidents when they occur and manage unsafe behaviour and activities. You might analyse incidents after they have occurred and evaluate emergency responses.

Correctional Emergency Response Officers should have excellent situational awareness skills and be able to remain calm during challenging situations. You’ll need good observational abilities and must be able to communicate clearly. Correctional Emergency Response Officers should be able to work as part of a team and make decisions quickly.
