Bakery Assistant

A Bakery Assistant performs a range of tasks in the kitchen of a bakery or bakery department. You might ensure ingredients and equipment are ready and help prepare bread, pastry and dessert items. Bakery Assistants clean kitchen areas and wash and store bakery equipment and utensils. You might be employed in a specialist bakery, a café or a restaurant.

Bakery Assistants must be flexible and able to follow a range of instructions. It’s important that you can work quickly and prioritise your tasks during busy periods. Bakery Assistants must be able to work as part of a team and be able to handle several tasks at one time. You may have to work irregular hours including early starts in this position.
