Aboriginal Aged Care Worker

An Aboriginal Aged Care Worker works with Indigenous elders to monitor and improve their health. You might work in a health clinic or community centre or you may be employed in an Indigenous aged care facility. Aboriginal Aged Care Workers are also involved in specific health care programs. Your role might involve carrying out health screening and assessments or providing support for your clients’ health issues.

An Aboriginal Aged Care Worker needs to have excellent communication skills. You’ll be liaising with clients as well as other health care professionals so you‘ll need to be able to work as part of a team. You’ll need to be flexible and be organised so you can work with several clients at once.
